Scholarships

NorthWest Credit Union Collectors Association offers two types of scholarships to member credit unions: Educational Scholarships and Conference Scholarships.

Educational Scholarships are awarded for educational programs directly related to collection and/or lending. We budget $1,500 annually for our educational scholarship, which is to assist one or more association members to attend national schools or conferences. Examples would be Eric North Bankruptcy Conference, Rex Johnson’s University of Lending, CUNA Financial Counseling School, CUNA Beginning and Advanced Collections and Bankruptcy School, Western CUNA Management School or even college courses directly related to collection or lending career. We are currently taking applications for fiscal year September 2011-August 2012.

Contact Rebecca Bauer at 800-248-6928 ext. 1106 for applications and qualifications.

Conference Scholarships are available to member credit union collectors and lenders, enabling those to attend who might otherwise not. We budget up to 10 scholarships for our annual conference in June and they are available on a first come first serve basis. Email scholarship requests to Sheri Wilson  or call 360-426-1601 ext. 3118 with questions.

All Ten Conference Scholarships were awarded  for the 2011 Annual Conference held this past June at the Portland Downtown Waterfront Marriott. With the support of our vendors, some who contribute directly to the Conference Scholarship fund, we look forward to awarding another 10  for the 2012 Conference in Richland.
